PREPARATORY VISIT – NEW COMENIUS PROJECT

“ACT – Active Citizen Tour” is the name of the new Comenius project that we are preparing. When we finished our last project we promised to continue working to develop future projects and we have already started to make new contacts with other countries.

As most of you know, the Salesian Los Boscos School participated in a Comenius Multilateral School Partnership for two years (2010-2012), with the project “Touring Europe – intercultural and plurilinguistic experiences”. We did a lot of activities and meetings with the partner schools, teachers, students and families from the different countries.

Comenius School Partnerships reinforce the European dimension in education promoting activities of relationship and cooperation among schools. The projects last two years and are aimed to schools from Infantile to High School; they offer pupils and teachers from different countries the opportunity to work together and may include visits of pupils to other school partners. In these projects students work in transversal subjects such as environmental education, cultural heritage, European citizenship, use of Information and Communication Technologies (ITC), fight against racism, art, science and languages.

The application is presented in February in the National and Regional Agency, and to prepare it we have travelled to Saint-Herblain (Nantes), where we met with our future partners and planned the activities for the two next years. The French school, Lycee Jules Rieffel, received us and we come back very happy with all the work done and the future projects in mind.

Me ayudó a reforzar el Inglés, además de tener el placer de poder haber viajado fuera de España. La familia que me acogió se porto muy bien conmigo. Fue una experiencia muy positiva.

Two years ago, I travelled to Foggia, a small town in Italy with the Comenius Proyect. I think it's great that we have another chance to travel and meet new people and practice different languages.
